Ft. Bragg
The physical therapy clinic at Fort Bragg was looking to purchase an unweighting system for their facility. They were not interested in harness systems because they are too restrictive and their patients need something they can get in and out of easily on their own. They have a pool for therapeutic use, but as the Major who is the head physical therapist pointed out, “Soldiers need to run.” The advantage of the G-Trainer for them was that it is easy to adjust weight in precise increments, and the comfort during use made the G-Trainer the easy choice for Fort Bragg. Soldiers are using the G-Trainer for everything from ankle to knee to spine injuries and post surgery care.

Dathan continues to cross-train on the G-Trainer regularly and joined the 2008 Olympic marathon team after coming in second at the trials with a personal best time of 2:11:07.

Stacy Dragila
Stacey Dragila, Olympic pole vaulter, had surgery on her Achilles in the summer of 2006. Shortly after recovering, she discovered she had a partial tear in her left Achilles. Stacy had to endure a long recovery period after the first surgery during which she was not able to exercise at all. After healing, it took another couple of months to get back on the track since she still had to get back into shape. With the second surgery she was able to continue exercising and training through her recovery. She started on the G-Trainer shortly after surgery at a low percentage of body weight to keep active. She continually added speed and weight to her G-Trainer workouts to build up to substantial training-quality workouts. She continues to use the G-Trainer as a cross-training tool to prepare for the 2008 Olympics.
