WOODWAY USA
AlterG partners with WOODWAY, the world’s largest specialized treadmill manufacturer. The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill integrates WOODWAY’s high-performance, durable Desmo model. WOODWAY is the manufacturer of the world’s finest treadmill, specializing in high-end, custom designed and hand built treadmills for fitness training, rehabilitation, and human performance. As a company, they have been at the forefront of testing and training technology for over 35 years.
WOODWAY treadmills are so different, that it is a treadmill in name only. It starts with the low friction from the ball-bearing transportation system, which alleviates the forces to all mechanical and electrical parts, resulting in less wear, less maintenance, fewer repairs, lower electric bills, and a longer treadmill life. WOODWAY then created an entirely new running surface with 3/8″ think vulcanized rubber T-slats that absorb shock at the point of impact without changing the biomechanics of running. These slats create the ideal “softness” to eliminate the harmful shock to connective tissue, joints and muscles. WOODWAY continues to be a leader in the Performance Enhancement training market and at the forefront of testing and training technology.
NIKE Oregon Project
Alberto Salazar, famed marathon runner and coach for Nike distance runners with Nike’s Oregon Project, was instrumental in providing feedback for AlterG engineers developing the Anti-Gravity Treadmill. AlterG continues to work with Alberto and his runners to understand the benefits of using the Anti-Gravity Treadmill and improving the Anti-Gravity Treadmill technology.
